From 16 to 18 October 2023, the workshop ‘Art perception: research challenges’ took place at the Henri Poincare Institute in Paris, co-organised by our colleague Dr Jacek Rogala.
In October of last year, the Henri Poincaré Institute in Paris hosted the “Art Perception: Research Challenges” workshops, co-organized by our colleague Dr. Jacek Rogala. These workshops, exploring the intersection of science and art (https://art-math-science.net), are part of a broader program funded by the National Science Foundation (USA). The multidisciplinary nature of the workshops, bringing together physicists, mathematicians, computer scientists, cognitive scientists, biologists, and practicing artists, ignited a lively exchange of views. This interaction led to the formation of interdisciplinary research groups during the workshops. Participants included renowned scientists such as Helmut Leder, Johan Wagemans, Ernst Pöppel, Ian Verstegen, Paul Glendinning, and active artists Manoel Veiga, Tamara Friebel, and Beata Bajno.
